PCB Fatigue

Steinberg Analysis

We were approached by an aerospace company to perform a Steinberg Analysis on a circuit board. A Steinberg analysis is used to determine the fatigue stress on the PCB components due to the relative motion of the PCB. We modeled the system in SolidWorks and analyzed the model for Random Vibration in ANSYS Workbench.

The results have been used by our customer to evaluate the design of their PCB and make changes to the location of anchors and large components on the board itself. The results were validated by physical testing.
